Meteor Crater

Fifty Thousand years ago, the earth experienced a most dramatic event when a meteor traveling at 26,000 MPH impacted the area outside of what would become Winslow Arizona.  In 10 seconds the meteor created a crater measuring almost a mile across, ~2.4 miles in circumference and 550 feet deep!  The impact was equivalent to the detonation of a 20 Megaton nuclear weapon!
