Little Big Horn, Mt.

The Little Big Horn National Monument, site of Custer's Last Stand is a must see on your Bucket List.  I guess, because of Hollywood depictions, I never realized the extent of the battle which extend for miles along the Little Big Horn River.  I was amazed at the markers scattered throughout the valley, each white marker indicating where a Cavalrymen fell or the red markers indicating where an Indian Warrior fell.  Visitors will also experience the wild horses that run on the plains.  The Little Big Horn National cemetery has 4,950 burial sites consisting of Soldiers and civilians killed in action (and their family members) at the Fetterman Fight, the Wagon Box Fight, Little Big Horn, Big Hole, Bear Paw Mountain and other skirmishes on the Northern Plains...
